Some key facts about Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI)

• Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) delivers a flexible and easy-to-use analysis tool that helps you to gain real-time insight into transactional data, understand data patterns and be alerted to key events and data anomalies.

• OTBI is a set of pre-seeded yet customizable analysis structures that  users can access to create ad hoc reports, dashboards and alerts to aid daily decision-making. OBIEE features of saving reports, sending alerts and ability to enable certain business process actions within the Oracle Applications.

• It is a real time BI. There is no data warehouse or ETL process for OTBI. Second, it is for Fusion Apps only. OTBI is leveraging the advanced technologies from both BI platform and ADF to enable the online BI queries against the Fusion Applications database directly. In addition, in some area, such as Financial, you can also connect to the Essbase cubes. Unlike OBIA, OTBI does not have a lot of prebuilt dashboards and reports

• OTBI queries should focus on operational analysis (for real-time operations analysis). Because most OTBI queries do not execute against pre-aggregated sources, they should not be used for querying very large volumes of historical data or generating trend analyses that span multiple years.
